Newimals
5th graders studied digital composites, which are images made up by multiple photographs. Students explored the Photoshop tools that are needed to cut and paste part of an image into another image, such as the lasso tools. Students put their Photoshop skills to test as they brainstormed a new species of animal, or a "Newimal". We discussed animal pairs that would be ironic, such as a predator and prey, or animals that share a similar color or texture.
5th graders worked to make their composites believable by making neat selections, using the clone tool, and matching the color and brightness of their images.
Take a look at their amazing Newimal work!
