Focal Point Photography
4th Graders learned about focal point through a combined photography/Photoshop project. A focal point is the part of a photograph that the artist wants the viewer to see first. Students went out into the garden and searched for a subject.
Next 4th graders uploaded their images into Photoshop and practiced a technique called Selective Color. Students kept their focal point in color and made the rest of the image black and white, making the most important part of the image pop out. They added blur and contrast to further emphasize the focal point.
