3rd Grade Macro Photography

For the past week third grade has been studying Macro photography. Macro photography is when photographers use either a special magnifying lense or a camera setting to take pictures of subjects up close.

This is one of our favorite online examples of Macro photography.

Third graders explored the "Macro mode" setting that is found on our Graphic Art digital cameras. We talked about how Macro mode allows us to see our world in a very different way from the human eye. Next, we went out into the Janney garden and photographed nature. Take a look at these third grade photographs. I am so proud of this group for such creative and colorful images and for showing us a new view of the garden.
